Coed-Y-Bedw is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located on the north side of Heol Goch just outside Pentyrch. According to the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales, it is an ancient broadleaf woodland, with Alder, Oak, Birch & Ash. Wildlife includes the uncommon Giant Lacewing.
